I put my wallet (and liver) on the line to bring you a review of the popular and highly regarded Glenfiddich 12 Year Old Single Malt Scotch Whisky.

As a whisky connoisseur (or at least, that's what I like to tell myself), I was excited to get my hands on a bottle of Glenfiddich 12 Year Old Single Malt Scotch Whisky to bring you this review.

Everyone has heard great things about this brand, and the Glenfiddich 12 Year Old Single Malt Scotch Whisky is regarded as one of their best - dollar for dollar.

I was eager to sit down, get stuck in to this bottle and write up a review of why it is so highly regarded.

I apologise in advance for my spelling and grammar.

Glenfiddich 12 Year Old Review

The first thing that struck me about this whisky was the packaging.

The bottle itself is pretty standard - it's a nice, sturdy glass bottle with a classic label. But it's the presentation box that really caught my eye. It's a sleek, black box with the Glenfiddich logo etched into the top.

It feels fancy and exclusive, like I'm about to open up a treasure chest or something.

But enough about the packaging - let's get to the important part: the whisky itself. I poured myself a generous serving and took a sniff.

The aroma was immediately pleasing - there were notes of apple, pear, and oak, with just a hint of spice. So far, so good.

I took a tentative sip and let the whisky roll around in my mouth. The first thing that hit me was the smoothness.

This stuff is seriously smooth - it goes down easy, with no rough edges or burning sensations. The flavour is equally delightful.

There's a nice balance of sweet and spicy notes, with the apple and pear flavours coming through strongly. I also detected a hint of vanilla and a slight oakiness. All in all, it's a very well-rounded whisky.

As I continued to sip, I started to feel a warm, fuzzy feeling spreading through my body.

This stuff is definitely doing its job.

I'm not sure if it's the whisky itself, or just the fact that I'm enjoying a nice, relaxing evening at home, but either way, I'm feeling good.

Now you often see on shows like Mad Men, high rollers pairing a whisky with a cigar. So I decided to pair my Glenfiddich with a nice cigar (because why not?).

I figured the two would complement each other nicely, and I was right. The whisky's smooth, fruity flavours worked well with the earthy, spicy flavours of the cigar.

It was a perfect pairing.

As the evening wore on, I found myself feeling more and more relaxed. The Glenfiddich was definitely doing its job - it's a seriously smooth, easy-drinking whisky.

I think I might have even started to hum a little tune to myself at one point. But hey, that's what whisky does to me.

Glenfiddich 12 Year Old Review: Conclusion

The smooth, balanced flavours make it a great choice for sipping on its own, and it pairs well with cigars or other snacks. And the presentation box is just a nice added bonus. If you're in the market for a new whisky, give Glenfiddich a try - you won't be disappointed.
